What We Believe

Articles of Faith

1.  We believe in only one true and living God, and that there is a Trinity of Persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, the same in essence, equal in power and glory. Matthew 28:19; John 1:1; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 5:7-8

2.  We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, given by Inspiration of God, are of divine authority and the only rule of faith and practice. Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21

3.  We believe in the fall of Adam, in the imputation of his sins to all posterity, in the total depravity of human nature, and in man’s inability to restore himself to the favor of God. Genesis 3:17-19; Job 14:4; John 6:44; Romans 5:12; Romans 8:7; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Ephesians 2:8-10

4.  We believe in the everlasting love of God for His people, in the eternal, unconditional election of a definite number of the human family to grace and glory. Psalm 89:33; John 6:37-39 & 44-45; John 15:9; Romans 8:30-31; Romans 9:11; Ephesians 1:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Peter 2:9; 1 John 4:8

5.  We believe that sinners are only justified in the sight of God by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, which is unto and upon all them that believe. Jeremiah 23:5-6; John 1:12-13; Romans 4:6-7; Romans 4:24-25; Romans 10:4

6.  We believe all those who were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world are, in time, effectually called, regenerated, converted, and sanctified, and kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Acts 20:28; Romans 4:11; Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:4-6; Ephesians 2:1,5; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23 & 4:5

7.  We believe there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Who, by the satisfaction He made to the law and justice in becoming an offering for sin, hath, by His most precious blood, redeemed the elect from under the curse of the law, that they may be holy and without blame before Him in love. Psalm 111:9; Romans 5:9-10; Romans 8:29; Galatians 3:13; Galatians 4:4-5; Ephesians 1:4; Hebrews 10:10; 1 Timothy 2:5

8.  We believe that good works are the fruits of faith and, following after justification, are the evidences of a gracious state, and it is the duty of all believers to perform them from a principle of love. 9.  We believe in the resurrection of the dead and a general judgment; that the happiness of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be everlasting. Matthew 25:31-34; Matthew 25:41; John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:19-28; Revelation 20:12-15
